SUMI SOAKER MARK II VS R-WIDE
The main difference between these two types of tubing is their spray angles and coverage patterns.
The SumiSoaker R-Wide features a lower spray angle that creates a wider, flatter pattern—covering up to 30 feet in total width (15 feet per side)—while keeping spray height under 8 feet. This makes it ideal for open-field production where maximum coverage is needed with fewer lines.
The Mark II, with its steeper 80-degree spray angle, produces a narrower but taller spray pattern—covering 13 feet in total width and reaching heights up to 6.6 feet. Its taller, more vertical spray makes the Mark II perfect for irrigating around the curved sides of low tunnels and over taller crops like mature lettuce or brassicas.
While the R-Wide needs fewer lines to cover a given area (saving materials and setup time), the Mark II's compact design and ability to spray up and over obstacles make it the better choice for intensive production systems, greenhouses, and places where vertical clearance is important.
INSTALLATION NOTES & TECH SPECS
- Sumi Soaker Mark II performs best at 12 PSI with a flow rate of 7.1 gallons per hour per foot of length. Reducing the pressure and/or flow rate will affect the coverage area.
- You can use our Garden Hose Connector to connect your Sumi irrigation system to your garden hose.
- Pressure above 12 PSI will damage the Sumi tubing. We recommend using a pressure regulator.
